At a key stage of growth for Mercuryo, we are looking for a talented and experienced Events Manager to take our events programme to the next level. You will lead on the planning and delivery of Mercuryo’s global events programme, growing brand awareness and revenue opportunities across the UK, Europe, and the USA.

 

This is an exciting role within the PR team, where you will have the opportunity to manage and deliver global events such as Money 20/20, Bitcoin 2022, and Paris Blockchain Week.

 

The role will include:

 

  • Planning and management of all elements of events, from concept to on-site delivery, for a high volume of annual events: in-person, hybrid, and virtual
  • Owning and building our events calendar, discovering events within the FinTech and Cryptocurrency space, which will deliver the biggest impact and ROI for Mercuryo
  • Building an events timeline and keeping key stakeholders such as the sales team, wider marketing team, and design teams updating on the project status and priorities
  • Researching, sourcing, and managing all external suppliers, contractors, and freelancers involved in the event planning and delivery stages
  • Managing the events budget, negotiating the best rates on all costs, ensuring invoices and contracts are settled on time, as well as budget reconciliation post event
  • Organising travel and accommodation for attending team members, as well as supporting visa applications, and keeping the team abreast of Covid-19 travel restrictions
  • Traveling to events, conducting on-site inspections, and project managing throughout
  • Creative planning, briefing, and sourcing of marketing collateral and promotional material for the events
  • Securing wider marketing and PR opportunities for Mercuryo’s attending executive team, eg. speaking slots, journalist interviews
  • Organising conference set design and signage, ensuring consistent branding across all promotional material
  • Post event KPI reporting and analysis, setting objectives to improve future events
  • Ensuring continuous attendee and partner feedback is gathered, communicated, and actioned
  • In-between events, you’ll have the opportunity to support wider PR projects within the marketing team where necessary.

 


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • You will have significant experience managing high-profile B2B events previously, ideally within the FinTech and/or Cryptocurrency space
  • Outstanding organisation skills and ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
  • You will have worked for a multi-national business, with excellent communication and interpretation abilities
  • You will have strong logistical skills to manage the whole events process, from the planning stage right through to running the actual day itself and the post-event evaluation
  • Your planning skills will be second to none and you’ll be well versed at managing expectations and keeping the project team updated on priorities throughout  
  • You’ll pride yourself on your impeccable attention to detail, whilst being able to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks at once
  • Confidence when negotiating with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Extensive experience in managing budgets and reporting on expenditure
  • Working knowledge of health and safety guidelines and practices for in-person events
  • Excellent communication skills, with the professionalism and confidence to liaise with senior level industry contacts
  • Virtual event management experience or be tech-savvy and able to pick up new platforms
  • Ideally, you will also be able to speak multiple languages, including Russian, but this is not an essential

ESSENTIALS

The successful candidate must:

  • Have 5+ yr experience independently and successfully managing operations on multiple large events to a consistently high standard
  • Own a full, clean driving license and be willing to travel
  • Be professional, presentable and highly-organised
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others, thinking outside the box for creative solutions
  • Ability to anticipate problems and/or put contingency plans in place
  • A proven ability to work to tight deadlines, with attention to detail under pressure
